A couple of weeks ago when I was in the vintage store København K, I bought these amazing cowboy boots, as I've showed you before. I have worn them a few times, but do you know when you cant figure out if it's a love/hate itemthat you have bought....??! I was in that position ... the length of the shank on the boots has bothered me a little ... or very ... hehe ... so after a loooonng chat with my friend, I decided to cut the shank shorter ... I just feel best in ankle boots and I love the final result!! Then you have a pair of leather boots that need a little renewal, consider a possibly of cutting of the shaft is what it takes.
I did the following:
- Tried the boots on to see how wide the shank is in circumference (to see whether they are suitable as an ankle boot)
- Found another couple of ankle boots and put the two boots against each other (side to side) to mark the length of the shaft.
- Markets way front and back
- Cut the marked, just a few inches away to be sure that you do not cut crooked
- Start to cut from one hole to another - and all the way around
